Effective Response: Coordination, Communication, and Continual Improvement
12/07/2023 1:05 PM
When emergencies strike, a coordinated response is paramount to maintaining camper safety and well-being. In this session, we'll explore various aspects of effective crisis response, starting with a focus on camper considerations from an access and functional needs standpoint. Next, you’ll learn how to coordinate teams and streamline communication channels during a crisis, ensuring a synchronized response that minimizes potential risks. You’ll gain insights into best practices for documenting critical information during a high-pressure situation, allowing for a comprehensive post-event analysis or After-Action Review (AAR). This session will also offer a forum to share real-life camp emergency response stories, inspiring others with crisis management experiences while identifying key takeaways for future enhancements. We will end the session with a mini-tabletop exercise, incorporating these real-world stories into our key concepts.
