Southeastern Fall Camp Conference Pre-Conference: The Character Trait Series 2026

The Characteristics Series is geared toward supporting camp-based character programming with shared language, practical tools, and immersive learning experiences. Grounded in the idea that character is shaped through everyday decisions, the series focuses on how capacity, stress, fatigue, and support impact our ability to live in alignment with our values.

This workshop engages the full camp ecosystem, staff, and campers in shared character development. Using the familiar lens of heroes and villains, participants explore real personal and professional challenges, examine aspirational character strengths, and move beyond simple “good vs. bad” thinking toward a more nuanced understanding of character.

Additional Information

Minors: Minimum age to register for American Camp Association professional development events is 18 years. Minors cannot be registered for the Pre-Conference. All minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian at all times.

Use of Images in ACA Publications: Through my registration, I give American Camp Association full rights and permissions with respect to any photographs, video, and audio recording taken during the ACA event. These images and recordings may be used by ACA, and its agents, in education and promotional media.

Code of Conduct for Events: By participating in an ACA event, you agree to follow the code of conduct for events.

Cancellations must be in writing and can be faxed to 765-342-2065 or emailed to events@ACAcamps.org. Phone cancellations are not accepted. The cancellation deadline is 09/15/2026. Cancellations received by 09/15/2026 will be eligible for a refund, minus a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellations received less than 2 weeks before the event will not be refunded. If ACA cancels the event, the registration fee will be fully refunded.
