April 3 (2-3 PM EST) - Abuse Prevention at Camp: Creating a Trauma-Informed Response Framework
Join us for a webinar led by trauma-informed camp advisor and former sex crimes prosecutor Rena Paul, Esq., who will guide camp leaders through the critical steps of developing a robust framework for addressing reports of misconduct and harm during the camp season. You’ll learn how to create a clear, effective safety and abuse prevention plan whether the reports involve camper-on-camper incidents or camper-staff interactions. Whether you're a new or seasoned leader, this session will provide the tools and knowledge you need to respond confidently and appropriately to any sensitive situation that may arise.
April 22 (1-2 PM EST) - The First Disclosure: How to Respond to the Initial Report of Harm
The way a staff member responds to a camper’s initial disclosure of abuse, misconduct or other harm can significantly influence both the camper’s experience and the outcome of the situation. Camp is never more at risk than during the aftermath of a report of harm - whether it turns out to be founded. Led by Rena Paul, Esq., a trauma-informed camp advisor and former sex crimes prosecutor, this session will provide in-depth guidance on how to properly recognize and handle disclosures. This session is designed to empower camp staff with the tools and knowledge necessary to approach sensitive situations with care, ensuring the well-being of both the camper and the camp community.
