The ACA New Director Orientation (NDO) is a course for seasonal or newer camp directors, assistant directors, program directors, and others moving into camp leadership positions. The course includes an overview of all the aspects of the director's job with the primary focus on the summer operation.
The course covers five critical areas to help directors and supervisors develop the skills they need to be effective leaders. The core areas covered include (1) leadership and supervision, (2) camper and staff development and behavior, (3) staff training, (4) risk management, and (5) evaluation and assessment.

Registration includes a full day of instruction, course materials and lunch. 

Lodging is available at Camp Holloway on October 18 and October 19, 2021 for those that are attending the Fall Gathering and/or New Director Orientation.  The lodging is cabin-style group lodging with shared bathrooms and the cost is $20 per person per night. Participants need to provide their own bedding and towels.  Cabins are climate controlled and have refrigerators.  Meals will not be provided for overnight guests.  There are a variety of dining options nearby.

Cancellations must be in writing and can be faxed to: (765) 342-2065 or emailed to events@ACAcamps.org.  Phone cancellations are not accepted. The cancellation deadline is 10/5/2021.  Cancellations received by 10/5/2021 will be eligible for a refund, minus a $25 cancellation fee.  Cancellations received after 10/5/2021 will not be refunded.  If ACA cancels the event, the registration fee paid will be fully refunded.

Use of Images in ACA Publications: Through my registration, I give American Camp Association full rights and permissions with respect to any photographs, video, and audio recordings taken during the ACA event. These images and recordings may be used by ACA, and its agents, in educational and promotional media.
