The Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is designed to teach individuals how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders. The scenarios used throughout the course are camp based.

Registration includes program, Mental Health First Aid book, course materials and lunch. 
 

Additional Information

Cancellations must be in writing and can be faxed to: (765) 342-2065 or emailed to events@ACAcamps.org.  Phone cancellations are not accepted. The cancellation deadline is 10/2/2019.  Cancellations received by 10/2/2019 will be eligible for a refund, minus a $25 cancellation fee.  Cancellations received after 10/2/2019 will not be refunded.  If ACA cancels the event, the registration fee paid will be fully refunded.
