The 2020 Rocky Mountain Fall Conference is coming to you. Join the virtual conference from the safety and convenience of your home, office or anywhere you like.
The 2020 Rocky Mountain Fall Conference will feature speaker panels, roundtables and critical issue learning spanning three days. The virtual delivery of this year’s conference increases the benefits of convenience, safety and value while preserving the fun, networking and timely information which are hallmarks of the conference. We will share practical solutions around modifications to programs in the time of COVID-19 with lessons learned from last summer to help you prepare for next summer. We will hear from Bob Ditter about dealing with the emotions of our participants, customers, staff and ourselves during this stressful and anxious time. We will explore the most relevant topics facing camp operators: Colorado and Wyoming laws and regulations, training staff virtually, increasing diversity, equity and inclusion and sharing the resources to keep camp safe and open for business.
We know you are spending a lot of time on screens, so we are designing the conference with you in mind. You will not have to endure endless hours of staring at your computer, phone or tablet. The conference will happen with shorter bursts of education and plenty of time to connect with other Rocky Mountain camp directors. The content will be engaging, participatory and not “sit and get”. Not only are breaks built in to help you keep up with home and work commitments, you will also have access to all the recorded sessions in case you miss something you are interested in or were viewing a concurrent session.
And we know you are looking forward to the fun. The committee is planning some great networking opportunities and socials that you won’t want to miss. Throughout the conference you will “learn by doing” the best practices for virtual trainings and meetings that you can use to make your own online activities more engaging.
Due to the economic challenges facing many camps as a result of the pandemic, ACA, Rocky Mountain Reserve Funds have been made available so that we can offer a subsidized rate. If you require financial assistance in order to attend the Rocky Mountain Fall Conference, please complete the scholarship application available on our Additional Information page.
Participants will be able to access all sessions in a recorded format for one month following the event. Thus, participants will have access to the entire program’s content, not just the sessions attended live.
