ACA is offering a special subscription access option for Creating a Sense of Community in Camp. Subscription access allows you to provide the course to all of your counselors for one price.
Camps are often described as communities or even families. It’s true - camp is a community and the ability of staff members to help foster a positive sense of community at camp can be critical to the success of the camp experience. This course was designed to teach front-line staff how to help children and youth develop a sense of community and connectedness to the camp experience. Staff will learn how “sense of community” is defined and why it’s important. They’ll also learn about barriers that can reduce a camper’s sense of community and specific strategies for enhancing sense of community. The course focuses on specific tips and techniques that all staff can implement and resources that camps can add to their staff training tool-kits. Although this course was designed with camps in mind, the strategies are applicable to many other youth settings such as after-school programs, environmental education centers, and youth sports.
The cost of the course allows unlimited numbers of your staff to take the course. Your staff may complete the program at their convenience. A certificate of completion can be printed upon completion of the course.
Your learners will self-enroll into the course(s) you purchased via an enrollment key unique to your camp/organization.
