Price: Cost
Delivery Method: Live, group interaction
Serving Ages: 5 to 14
Activities: Academics Adventures Arts Nature Sports

Every morning, during the weeks of June 8 and June 15, (Mondays through Fridays) from 10 am to 12.30 p.m PST, your children (ages 5-14) will have fun, be engaged, move and learn French with our Digital Camp Counselors. Your children may know some of them as almost all of them are returnees! “Le Club EFBA” will be organized in three different “virtual bunks” (10 campers per bunk maximum) allowing campers of similar ages to connect with each other and spend time together collaborating, learning and laughing. Our “virtual bunks” are a safe and consistent way for campers to interact with a peer group, camp staff, and stay connected at camp during this time of uncertainty. Because sharing is important, we are offering the possibility for campers to register and choose to be in the same bunk as their best friends!

The eCabin structure will enable campers to connect with a consistent, caring adult and youth from their region to support the creation of positive social connections. Phase 1 of launching Tim's eCamp will focus primarily on engaging youth that have already been registered in our existing in-person program through live gatherings and content. However, there are opportunities for external audiences to engage with some content and activities through our social media sites and website. As we continue to develop this platform we will continue to explore and consider ways to make our camp and program more accessible. We are excited to be launching this new aspect of our program and see this being a lasting component of our organization once in-person camp resumes. Newsroom by the Bay is one of the nation's leading journalism camps for high school students, held every summer at Stanford University. Now in our 10th year, we have a “learn by doing” approach that already blends explicit journalism instruction with student-led online production. NBTB Online (June 29-July 10), will offer two weeks of daily classes in news writing, digital media, photojournalism and broadcast taught by nationally known educators and working journalists (all sessions available live or on demand). Guest speakers each day will provide insights into climate science and political reporting. Students will acquire key understandings and technical skills, then practice them in small news teams of 4-6 students as they pitch, report and design stories under the guidance of talented team leaders drawn from the nation’s top journalism schools. Students will publish to one of our three publications (global journalism website, interactive magazine or broadcast channel) and may also do client work for one of our news partners. Our program emphasizes engagement and authentic outcomes; students leave as published journalists and often return as student leaders, counselors-in-training and team leaders. NBTB Online includes a Year 1 track for beginning/intermediate students and a Year 2 track for advanced/returning students; for Year 1 no prior journalism experience is required.

Virtual Summer will bring that great camp feel right into your own home. Virtual Summer offers baking, cooking, art, dance, fitness, yoga, legos, magic and chess.
